This labour of love was a gift for my cricket-mad son to capture the historic moment when England beat New Zealand in the 2019 Cricket World Cup Final at the Home of Cricket. In what is considered to be one of the most dramatic finishes in sporting history (after both teams were inseparable at the end of the game with the scores tied at 241), this painting is a snapshot of the euphoric celebrations when England finally won their first ODI world cup “by the barest of margins”.
My thanks to Action Images Thomson Reuters for their kind permission to use the picture that inspired this painting.
